A by-election is taking place in St Michael’s Ward on 30 June following the resignation of Joe Pollard. One of the candidates hoping to be victorious is the Conservative nominee, Ray Sams, who previously represented the Ward from 2006-2014. Rt Hon David Evennett has been out campaigning for Mr Sams, and has voiced his strong support for the candidate. Mr Evennett commented: “Ray was an outstanding Councillor throughout his eight years representing the Ward. He worked extremely hard on behalf of all residents and he cares passionately about the area. Ray is without doubt the best candidate to serve in St Michael’s.”
