Three things in life are certain – life, death and Labour raising taxes on workers, savers, pensioners and businesses.
The Budget at the end of November raises taxes on the people who do the right thing and gives their money to those not working and on benefits.
Rachel Reeves and Keir Starmer put up taxes by a staggering £40 billion in 2024. Mainly from businesses by increasing national insurance. It means it is more expensive for businesses to hire people so it is no surprise that unemployment has risen every month since Labour were elected. It was tax on jobs.
This year they added another £26 billion in taxes. Mainly by once again freezing income tax bands meaning the more people who work or save earn, they have to pay far more tax than they would have done if the income tax bands also rose. Even 800,000 people, including many in Bexleyheath and Crayford will have to pay income tax for the first time. It is a tax increase.
This is to pay for an ever-increasing benefits bill including removing the two-child cap on child benefit. There is no disincentive to not having children you cannot afford to bring up – and the expectation that everyone else will pick up the tab.
Labour have broken their manifesto pledges on not raising taxes for workers. Rachel Reeves has been caught red-handed by making up why she did it. Before the budget that she needed to raise taxes to pay for some mythical ‘black hole’ in the finances – when now we know there was no black hole ad it was all to do with for more people benefits.
Due to Labour’s two disastrous Budgets, we now have the highest tax burden in the history of our country. Unemployment is going up, young people are leaving in their tens of thousands to get away and the standards of living for everyone across Bexleyheath and Crayford is not improving.
This is all down to Labour and all fully supported by the Labour Member of Parliament for Bexleyheath and Crayford who is a huge supporter of both Rachel Reeves and Kier Starmer.
As set out, on the Conservative Party website, we have a clear plan to get the economy growing by cutting reforming welfare, clamping down on immigration, getting rid of nonsense Net Zero measures and cutting overseas aid.
The Labour Party are ruining our country and making life more difficult for ever one in Bexleyheath and Crayford. As they always do. Only we Conservatives are on the side of workers, families, savers, pensioners and businesses - both here locally and across our whole country.
