Local MPs welcome Indian Exchange Students to Parliament

Rt Hon Sir David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, and Rt Hon James Brokenshire, MP for Old Bexley and Sidcup, welcomed a group of Indian exchange students from The Modern School in Delhi to Parliament earlier today (20 June).

The students are undertaking an exchange programme with Townley Grammar School in Bexleyheath. They were given a tour of Parliament, before meeting the MPs in a Committee Room that had been organised by Sir David.

Sir David and Mr Brokenshire spoke to the pupils about the history of Parliament and the British electoral system, before answering question on a range of topics, from the role of the Monarch in British democracy to the House of Lords and the EU Withdrawal Bill.
