Rt Hon David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, spoke at a conference for local young people aged 13-19 at the Slade Green Community Centre on Friday evening (27 October).
The event was organised by local resident and student, Adeola Gbakinro, with the aim to show young people that they are capable of working in any job sector regardless of their background. The evening included icebreakers, speeches and a quiz challenge. There was also refreshments and opportunities to socialise.
Mr Evennett spoke about how he got into politics, before discussing his roles as a Member of Parliament and Lord Commissioner of HM Treasury. He then took questions from the audience on a range of topics, from social care to education.
