On Friday morning (1 December), local MP Rt Hon David Evennett paid a visit to the Jobcentre Plus in the Broadway Bexleyheath. Mr Evennett toured the site with District Manager Hazel Renwick and spoke with staff and service users, before discussing the rollout of Universal Credit in Bexley next year.

Following his visit, Mr Evennett attended the Bexley Police Borough Commander’s Commendation Ceremony at the Boathouse in Danson Park. Mr Evennett was joined by the Mayor of Bexley Cllr Peter Reader and James Brokenshire MP. The purpose of the ceremony is to honour Police Officers, Special Constabulary, Police Community Service Officers, Civil Staff and members of the public for outstanding work and bravery.

In the afternoon, he visited Centrepieces’ annual art exhibition in Hall Place, which is a celebration of the work created by Centrepieces’ artists and attempts to offer a greater understanding of mental health to the wider public.
