Pupils from Welling School visit Parliament

Pupils from Welling Secondary School who have been elected by their individual year groups to promote democracy and British values visited Parliament on Monday (8 January) for a tour and to meet local MP, Rt Hon David Evennett.

Almost 30 students were present for the tour of the Palace of Westminster which concluded in Westminster Hall, where they were then met by Mr Evennett for a brief talk on the history of the building, a photo, and were then taken to Portcullis House for a question and answer session.

Mr Evennett responded to questions on a range of topics including Brexit, education and skills, the voting age, NHS funding, and his role as an MP.
