David Evennett MP

Rt Hon David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, has held meetings with the Secretary of State for Transport, Rt Hon Chris Grayling MP, as well as John Halsall and Richard Messingham of Network Rail to discuss the misery of rail travel from Bexley to London.

Mr Evennett commented: “the daily commute is a nightmare and it is getting worse! Delays, cancellations, signalling problems, and all weather conditions have caused misery and anger among long suffering rail travellers.”

“Something radical has to be done and I expressed my constituents’ concerns that the service is sub-standard.”

The Secretary of State was very understanding, and the representatives from Network Rail admitted that problems needed to be addresses.

Mr Evennett has also had meetings with Southeastern about their poor performance.
