Rt Hon David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, visited Maples Care Home this morning (17 June), to meet staff and residents. Also at the visit was Cllr Eileen Pallen, the Mayor of Bexley. Maples Care Home is in Glynde Road, Bexleyheath, and provides long term residential, nursing, and dementia care. Mr Evennett spoke with staff members about the organisation and running of the home, before touring the home with the Mayor, and then spoke to a number of residents about their lives and experience in Maples. The visit was to mark "Care Home Open Day", and staff had also organised a cake baking competition. Mr Evennett and Cllr Pallen are pictured with Kath Misselbrook and her liquorice all sorts cake, which the Mayor had chosen as her favourite.
