The late Linda Bailey who served for many years as a Councillor on Bexley Council was today awarded The Legacy of Light Award on International Women’s Day. The awards were focused on woman who had made outstanding contributions to Sidcup. Linda served as Cabinet Member for Regeneration and during her tenure in this role she was instrumental in breathing new life into Sidcup High Street. She secured the new cinema and Library as well as supporting in attracting Waitrose.
Former colleague, friend and Leader of the Council Cllr Baroness O’Neill OBE said:
“Linda was a fantastic Councillor & colleague who worked tirelessly for others so it was terrific to see her memory living on and some of her achievements recognised. A real beacon of our community in Bexley”
The award was accepted on her behalf by her two daughters.
